Cheek has excellent balance and the leverage needed for serious competition. Mouthpiece adds some tongue relief and incorporates a slight amount of palate pressure for a different cue to stop. Plus, a little more bar pressure than a chain for harder mouthed horses. Great for horses that want to run in your hand against the bit.
