Calf Ear Savers

COZY CAPS FOR CALVES are made of cozy polar fleece with Velcro snug bands that totally cover the ears, face and neck.  They hold the ears firmly but comfortably against the head warmed by the calf’s own body heat.   They come in 3 sizes, XS for the preemie or small twins, Small to fit up to about 85 pounds, Large to fit up to about 130 pounds.  Comes in assorted colors. 

From the creator, Betty Wyatt - "The concept behind the Cap is to hold the calf's ears snuggly against its head to draw warmth from it's own body. The thickness of the fleece is irrelevant, after all, one millimeter of thickness one way or another is not going to make a difference when it is -30. I use fleece because it is soft, stretchy and breathable plus it stands up well wash after wash. Laundering between each and every use is of utmost importance. You will find in very cold temps when you remove the cap it will be frozen into a little shell. This is proof that the fleece wicks the moisture away from the calf. The calf's head will be toasty warm and dry. I wish I could say these are 100% 'momma proof', but they are not. All I can say is, it is the best solution we have ever used in over 24 years of calving cows. IMPORTANT: let the mother clean her calf if you can, then rub the cap over the body of the calf to get their scent onto the cap. Machine wash and dry with little soap and no fabric softener."

TIP: One customer had a cow that was very persistent in removing the cap, so he would vet wrap around the cap to keep it on.
